A refugee is any person who is forced to leave the state of which he is a citizen, due to a justified fear that he will be persecuted there because of religion or war or even because of his status as a member of a particular social group or his political ideas (political refugee) or due to environmental disasters, and in addition it is impossible to secure protection from his country. Polyphonic songs are not based on one eloquent singer but on the polyphony of the group. The speaker and the member are served with a special technique that teaches discipline. Each voice has its own "space" in the song and contributes to the expression of collective passion or staff that is expressed as a group. Singers are close to each other and often create a circle. There are no musical instruments. That is why the voices are so in solidarity. As for the poetic content, songs of love, of exile, of pain are answered. These songs do not try to please but to express something, following the shortest path to the popular soul, immediacy.

 

Ξενιτιά

 

Πρόσφυγας είναι κάθε άνθρωπος που εγκαταλείπει χωρίς την θέληση του το κράτος του οποίου είναι πολίτης, εξαιτίας δικαιολογημένου φόβου ότι εκεί θα υποστεί διωγμούς λόγω της θρησκείας ή του πολέμου ή ακόμα και εξαιτίας της ιδιότητάς του ως μέλος μιας ιδιαίτερης κοινωνικής ομάδας ή των πολιτικών του απόψεων (πολιτικός πρόσφυγας) ή λόγω φυσικών καταστροφών, και επιπλέον του είναι αδύνατο να εξασφαλίσει προστασία από τη χώρα του. Τα πολυφωνικά τραγούδια δεν βασίζονται σ’ έναν καλλίφωνο τραγουδιστή αλλά στην πολυφωνία της ομάδας. Ο λόγος και το μέλος υπηρετούνται με μια ειδική τεχνική που διδάσκει πειθαρχία. Κάθε φωνή έχει το δικό της «χώρο» μέσα στο τραγούδι και συμβάλλει στην έκφραση του συλλογικού πάθους ή του προσωπικού που εκφέρεται ομαδικά. Οι τραγουδιστές είναι κοντά ο ένας στον άλλο και συχνά δημιουργούν κύκλο. Μουσικά όργανα δεν υπάρχουν. Για αυτό οι φωνές είναι τόσο αλληλέγγυες. Ως προς το ποιητικό περιεχόμενο, απαντούν τραγούδια της αγάπης, της ξενιτιάς, του πόνου. Αυτά τα τραγούδια δεν προσπαθούν ν΄ αρέσουν αλλά να εκφράσουν κάτι, ακολουθώντας τον πιο σύντομο δρόμο για την λαϊκή ψυχή. Την αμεσότητα.
