Athens Calling
2013
More than twenty thousand protesters flooded the center of Athens where the pan-Hellenic demonstration “19 January, Athens antifascist city”.
The demonstration sent a message of condemnation to the neo-Nazist group of the Golden Dawn who murdered Shahzat Lukman, the racist government policy with centralized camps and racist operations, the police – Golden Dawn co-operation, the government’s attack on the right of citizenship for children of immigrants.
The call was turned into international mobilization in over 30 cities across the globe, including London, Edinburgh, Brussels, Vienna, Sydney, Canberra, Toronto, New York, Chicago, Tampere and elsewhere.
